This cafe is probably the first that comes to mind when we talk about art cafes. A Kerala-style home converted into a cafe, this place offers a calm, stress free ambience. There is a space by the entrance where they display artworks of city-based or foreign artists for free. The artwork changes on a regular basis and quite often, one might be able to meet the artists as well.

 Apart from the wide variety of food and drinks that this place offers, they also provide the customers with clay moulds of cups, saucers, mugs etc,. One can destress by painting over the moulds and the cafe later glazes it. The final product can either be purchased as a souvenir or put on display at the cafe.

Once a home, this place was renovated into a bookstore and then into a library-cum-bakery. Here, one can find over 10,000 books written in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Bengali, Hindi, English and Malayalam. Though these books are mostly on display for reading purposes, some of them are also for sale. This cozy place also frequently conducts workshops and shows that focus mainly on art. Apart from this, they also have movie screenings, story-tellings, slam poetry, book readings, etc,. 

Atta Galata’s simple menu also wins many hearts, making them want to visit the place over and over again.

This eatery was one of the city’s first places to start promoting various forms of art like slam poetry, open mic nights or displaying artwork of upcoming artists. Urban Solace, situated in Ulsoor, is an all-inclusive art community. It supports and promotes local artists, conducts author/poet-meet-and-greet where they read their books or poetry. The place has also featured multiple times on a few news channels (eg. NDTV).

This Sheraton startup was in collaboration with iArt, a Bangalore-based art gallery. The cafe is set inside a walkway that offers a broad and beautiful views of the gated community on one side. One can walk through the narrow corridor, sipping their coffee while admiring the beautiful works of art displayed on the walls. The displayed artwork, done by the local artists, are also up for sale with prices starting at as low as ₹2,500.

 

The cafe has a limited yet mouthwatering delicacies on its menu and although it has been set up by a five-star establishment, it isn’t very expensive as it starts at ₹120. Art Cafe is an ideal place to enjoy coffee and art together.
